Why Solent Gateway

A freeport tax and customs site

Solent Gateway (SGL) at Marchwood Port is designated as a freeport tax site and customs site. Whilst many sites across the 8 freeports in England have either customs site or tax site status, few have both. This makes SGL a unique and compelling site for import, export, storage and manufacture – we have the facilities and space for all this in a single freeport site. Our ethos is built on making things easy; creating trusted, long-lasting partnerships that allow us to understand customers and deliver their unique requirements through bespoke, personal solutions.

The SGL team has worked across the port and logistics industries for decades. As such, we understand exactly what customers want and expect from port operations providers.

Location

The Solent is a gateway economy of international significance, providing connectivity to global markets, for the wider UK economy. SGL provides one of the best locations in Britain for importing and exporting goods. Its proximity to many of the major shipping lanes brings several key benefits to our customers:

• Cost savings
• Time savings
• Reduced carbon emissions
